Just a guess only!!
Looking forward to go on a month's long Sabbath from the Internet. While thinking so, my attention was drawn to finding out what is the conventional meaning of the word.
I found out :
Google Translate tells that this Word :
Sabbath
is used to denote the traditional 2 days' observance of religious ritual of fasting and abstaining from the other worldly activities, on Friday onto Saturday (in a certain week in some certain month of the year as per the Jew calender).
The Christian tradition follows a similar practice on Sunday.
While going occasionally through the Indian PanchAngaM पञ्चाङ्गम् I noticed there is a stipulated time-period (maybe in every month) that is called:
सर्वार्थ सिद्धि योग.
For example on the 3rd of October 2025, this was from the 03:00 a.m. to Sunrise,
On the Sunday 19th October 2025 this was from Sunrise to Sunset, the whole day.
I have been wondering since long when it came to mind that the word "Sabbath" might have roots in the Sanskrit word :
सर्वार्थ!
As both these words so closely resemble with one another in the pronounciation and the meaning also.
